Posterior capsulorhexis with optic capture was originally described by Gimbel and DeBroff [4] to maintain a clear visual axis after pediatric cataract surgery. This technique involves capturing the IOL optic through a primary posterior continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (PCCC), while the haptics remain within the capsular bag (Figure 1).
